Historical Context

Saudi Arabia was founded by Abd al-Aziz Ibn Saud, who conquered the Hejaz in 1925 and unified most of the Arabian Peninsula under his rule by 1932. The coinage represents the early years of Saudi state formation and Ibn Saud's consolidation of power over the various Arabian tribes and regions.
